Why Campus Ministry

The college campus has become an increasingly influential entity in American culture and society. As a location for academic and intellectual pursuit, the American college campus is the source of tomorrow's leaders and simultaneously the very heart of pop-culture.

In college, young adults embark on a journey of self-discovery, venturing forth into the world on their own for the very first time. Here they will wade through a pool of worldviews and beliefs where situational ethics and relative morality continue to pervert and confuse the way in which we have been created and called to live.

It is within this context that students will grapple with life's most pressing questions. What do I want to do with the rest of my life? Who will I marry? What do I believe about…? It would be tragic indeed if the one voice that is not heard on the college campus is that of Jesus Christ.

It is my heart that the message and love of Christ surge forward and students/young adults be given a place to strengthen their faith in a God who desperately longs for them to know Him.

How terrible for so many to miss out on the fact that the God who created them, passionately loves them and, more than that, died to rescue them and offer abundant life.

As a student, Cougars for Christ changed my life and matured me in so many ways to be the man that I am today. More than that, it remains a safe-haven for truth and a refuge for students to this day. A place where students can feel like they belong, that they are known, and that they are loved.

Why campus ministry? How can we afford to miss out on the opportunity we have to influence the leaders of tomorrow, today. Can we really ignore the calling to reach the world for Christ? There is no better time than now. If we wait until tomorrow, it may just be too late.
